Zach Fritz

Hello! I’m Zach, a resident of central Indiana who has a deep passion for nature and wildlife photography. While my day job is spent in a research lab, you will likely find me outside on the weekends striving to document the unique personalities of various species that live in our area and composing beautiful landscape photographs.

I enjoy travel and getting the opportunity to see various species and landscapes that we don’t have in Indiana, but I will never lose my excitement for photographing where I’ve lived my entire life.

While I hope you enjoy some of my favorite images in my gallery, my ultimate wish is that they inspire you to spend more time outside and grow in your appreciation for the natural world.

If you have any questions about my photography, want to know about my process, or are interested in getting into the hobby, don’t hesitate to reach out. Also, check out my blog where I will periodically write about a topic pertaining to nature and wildlife photography. I hope to see you out there!

Cheers!

Zach

My Photographic Style and Commitment to Transparency:

My photography and editing process are a blend of realism (i.e., I want to show you what I saw with my eyes) and artistic expression. For instance, if I capture a fantastic image of a specific animal in poor lighting conditions, I might decide to edit the image in a way that embraces more creative liberty in highlighting the beauty of the animal while minimizing the uninteresting elements in the photo.

Practices I Avoid:

  • Shots are never staged or attempted to be staged (e.g., intentionally making noise to get an animal to look at me)

  • No captive animals will ever be showcased in my work

  • In post-processing, I do not add elements to a photo that were not truly present in the scene or remove major elements of images.
